Personalized Support
Educators serving grades 6-12 in Los Angeles County have access to our amazing Youth Leadership Coordinators. These environmental experts can join your classroom virtually or in-person and speak to your students on a variety of environmental topics. They can give a presentation, lead an activity or work with you to implement an environmental project aligned to the subject matter and standards in your curriculum – all free and personalized to your classroom.

From floods to droughts, discover the turbulent history of water in Los Angeles County! This workshop covers the exciting world of watersheds, stormwater pollution, water conservation and stormwater capture. Join us to explore a variety of projects designed to encourage students to address crucial water issues.

Taking Action: The Intersection of Education, Climate Change and Health
It’s not time for gloom and doom, it’s time for action! There is no single solution to address climate change, but there are ways we can make changes to alter our behaviors which are undermining the future of this planet. Join us to explore how project-based learning utilizes Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) to empower students to take action on waste, water and health issues stemming from climate change.

Summer Institute
Join Generation Earth for our two-day Summer Institute to explore environmental issues in Los Angeles County and gain the tools and support necessary to address these challenges with your students. Connect with our staff experts for personalized support on environmental topics and leave with resources to facilitate environmental projects in your classroom.
This two-day workshop will include:
- An in-depth look at sustainable waste and water management solutions
- Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) aligned environmental projects
- A live composting demonstration
- Presentations from teachers highlighting their Generation Earth projects
- A resource fair with field trip destinations, lesson ideas and project supplies
- Eco-friendly giveaways - including a rain barrel and compost bin
